Diversity and Humanity
Buena Park City Hall
August 23 – October 5
Through this exhibition, Co.Act aimed to celebrate diversity and humanity through art and writings. By having members of both our organization and the community participate, we were able to gather a collection of artwork that was displayed at the Buena Park City Hall. All of the funds collected during this exhibition were donated to or used in shipping books to the Fiji Nasikawa Mission School.
Our event was a huge success and ran extremely smoothly! Before we began, we received a word of thanks from Executive Board and Korean Board Members, congratulating all of our members for the tireless effort they had put into this event. During the opening ceremony we had a 50/50 raffle where half the funds would be given to Co.Act, and the other half to the winner! Winner Mayor Virginia generously donated her winnings back to our organization. We also brought back Sticker Votes, where visitors can purchase stickers to put on their favorite artworks. Winners, which are the artists who received the most stickers on their artwork, was awarded a prize! We concluded with our award ceremony, electing the best of the best out of our 56 pieces of art from originating from both Korea.
Diversity and Humanity
National Assembly of Korea
April 21- 22
Through this exhibition, Co.Act aimed to celebrate diversity and humanity through art and writings. Instead of having an art exhibition near Co.Act Headquarters, we ventured across the globe, holding our art exhibition in the National Assembly of Korea. With the same theme, various members of our Co.Act Korean branches created masterful artpieces and displayed it for all to see!
During the award ceremony at the National Assembly of Korea, Executive Board members Christine You, Ryan Ishii, and Stephanie Nam battled the time difference in order to greet and congratulate all of our Co.Act Korea members across the globe. A select few – artists who stood out among the rest – were awarded with recognition for their unique and wonderful pieces of art.
